Bethesda Row Art Festival 2023 | Bethesda, MD

I’m still swooning over the Bethesda Row Arts Festival! (And please excuse me while I play catch up after an extremely busy two weeks!). At this October’s Bethesda Row Arts Festival, we met so many wonderful new collectors, artists, and friends. My fellow artists were as kind and talented as could be and the collectors that we met were some of the loveliest, most art-educated people we’ve encountered.

Although Saturday brought cold and drizzly weather, Sunday was a picture perfect Autumn day, and we’re thrilled to have been here for it.

At the Bethesda Row Arts Festival, I debuted a few new pieces, including my new “Magnolia Halo" Triptych. While this triptych sold at Bethesda, the reception that these works received have made me even more excited to create more within this vein. These works are created with an inner “halo” of golden resin in the negative spaces of the painted magnolia flowers, in the style of stained glass windows. When these resin halos are lit up by the sun, they sparkle like pools of honey in such a beautiful, luminous way. The resin halos themselves are surrounded by hand applied gold leaf, so that no matter how you look at these works, they’re sure to sparkle and shine magnificently.

We were wowed that eight original paintings found their homes here in Bethesda, especially a few of our biggest and newest works. It’s always so encouraging when brand new work gets snatched up quick. It makes me all the more excited for the direction my work is headed.

Thank you so much to all of our new Bethesda collectors. I just loved chatting with you all about fine art and what it means to you. Plus, several of our new collectors have already sent installation images of their new work shining in their new homes. I’m eager to share those in situ images with you all soon in my next “In Situ” blog.

After the Bethesda Row Arts Festival, we cannot wait to make it up north again soon! In the meantime, check out my Events page to see the last few events of our Fall season and a few upcoming holiday markets. I hope to see you there!
