Sidewalk Art Show 2022 | Roanoke, VA

I’ll admit that my expectations for Roanoke, VA were pretty high, but this weekend still blew us away. At the Sidewalk Art Show, NINE original pieces found their new homes, five new commissions were added to the queue, and countless prints and more found their perfect people.

Just when I thought this weekend couldn’t get any better, I was surprised with the Paul Ostaseki Memorial Award, presented by his widow (cue the tears) and selected by the Taubman Musuem of Art. It was one of the most special moments of my art career to date.

To say that I’m honored would be an understatement. Receiving such a wonderful response to my work so early in my art career means more than I can say. I feel so encouraged, supported, and uplifted by this community, and I cannot wait to get back into the studio to paint you all more pieces to treasure. Thank you so much to the Taubman Museum of Art or selecting me for this award, and thank you to the family of Paul Ostaseski, especially his unbelievably lovely widow, Susan Ostaseski, for supporting and uplifting working artists with this award. I will cherish it forever.

Oh, and the cherry on top? My astoundingly strong, resilient, and badass husband finished his first ever Ironman 70.3 Triathalon this weekend. After watching him train for months and months, it was such a joy to get to see him cross that finish line with a big ol’ smile on his face. So proud of you, Joshua!

Thank you to the wonderful collectors in and around Roanoke, Virginia, the Taubman Museum of Art, and the Ironman 70.3 Virginia’s Blue Ridge Triathalon for the weekend of our dreams.
